Summary

Metal detecting between 1988 and 2024 recovered Roman and medieval to post-medieval pottery sherds; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins and a range of other, undated and Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include an undated copper alloy unidentified object; a Middle/Late Bronze Age socketed spearhead; a Roman mount and fragment of anthropomorphic figurine; an Early Saxon brooch and girdle hanger; Late Saxon brooches, a hasp and Anglo-Scandinavian openwork mount; Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorls; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval lead spindle whorl; a medieval/post-medieval chafing dish fragment, purse fragment, copper alloy vessel fragment and lead weight and post-medieval crotal bells, a clapper bell, harness mount, spoon fragment, sword belt fitting and lead cloth seal.
