The pillbox could not be accessed at the time of the survey, but"the valley is under rough grass and scrub and is maintained as a wildlife habitat" (S2). It is one of six surviving pillboxes located around the perimeter of Swanton Morley airfield, all of the same type. A brick gun tower and a spigot mortar also survive. However, the spigot mortar base has been moved from its original location and destruction of one of the pillboxes and the gun tower is planned in order to allow gravel extraction in the area.
