Summary

Metal-detecting and fieldwalking between 1991 and 2013 recovered a range of prehistoric worked flints, including a Mesolithic/Neolithic axe roughout, Neolithic blades, a Neolithic core and Neolithic/Bronze Age flakes, borers and scrapers; Roman and Late Saxon/medieval pottery sherds and Roman, medieval and post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include a Roman brooch, a medieval strap-end and a post-medieval book fitting.

1991. Metal detecting.
Roman headstud brooch.
Medieval - copper alloy base of strap end (tongue-shaped);
Gilt copper alloy triangular hook with rivet in broad end;
Copper alloy buckle plate fragment with two rivet holes;
15th century bronze belt mount, elaborate quatrefoil, two spikes on reverse.
Late medieval or early post-medieval bronze book clasp, very worn decoration and terminal broken off, one rivet in place, decorated with four transverse bands of ribbing.
Post medieval copper alloy hinge fitting.
