Summary

Metal-detecting at this location in 1991 and between 2011 and 2020 recovered a post-medieval pottery sherd; medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; a post-medieval token and a range of other, Late Bronze Age to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Bronze Age awl; a Roman brooch; a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval strap or book clasp; a potentially medieval lead pendant; medieval/post-medieval lead weights and a post-medieval coin weight, harness mount, probable furniture escutcheon plate, mount, copper alloy and lead weights and lead cloth seal. In 2001 potentially prehistoric 'pot boilers' and heat-crazed flints were noted somewhere in this area.
