Summary

In 1991 a silver head-dress pin, dating to the first quarter 17th century was found by a member of the public while gardening. The pin has a 'scoop' terminal, and a pierced hole for a pendant. There are two fields of engraved foliage above and below a rectangular slot, and an engraved flower on the stalk below on one face. The initials A.C., lightly dotted, are engraved on the pin, and it is in general very nicely decorated.

Silver head-dress pin, first quarter 17th century; 'scoop' terminal, pierced hole for pendant; two fields of engraved foliage above and below rectangular slot, and engraved flower on stalk below on one face, and leaf or stalk on other with initials A.C. lightly dotted. Engraved lines between fields continue on both sides of pin. Very nicely decorated.
