12 July 1990. NAU air photography.
Cropmarks enclosure/trackway.
Clearly a continuation of site NHER 12142.
Compiled by D. Edwards (NLA), 17 December 1990.
Within known cropmarks a ring ditch and centre mark suggest a post mill - mentioned by farmer. Cursory field walking produced pottery (5m square).
One Greyware body sherd, Roman.
One unglazed body sherd, medieval.
Two Glazed body sherds, medieval.
Two dark grey unglazed, undated.
Identified by A. Rogerson (NLA), 12 February 1993.
Compiled by B. Cushion (NLA), 12 February 1993.
August 1995. Metal detector finds.
Roman coin (dupondius) and lead ampulla reported. Neither seen.
Compiled by D. Gurney (NLA), 17 August 1995.
13 July 1993. NLA aerial photography (AP1).
Trackway and rectilinear enclosures clearly visible. Also circular cropmark, interpreted previously as a post mill, is apparent.
S. Massey (NLA), 14 March 2001.
26 July 1996. NLA aerial photography (AP2).
Cropmarks of site visible.
The site can be extended to include the field due south (which centres on [1] ), as the cropmarks of linears and rectilinear enclosures can be seen to continue there.
A trackway and circular feature are also visible.
H. Clare (NLA), 30 April 2001.
