Summary

This was the site of a settlement during the medieval period, which is mentioned in medieval documents from the early 14th century. Field walking recovered prehistoric flints, pottery dating from Roman the to the post medieval periods, and medieval metalwork.

Full Description

7-9 June 1990 and 5 July 1990. Field walking finds.
Roman, medieval sherds.
Medieval metalwork etc.
Medieval and post medieval concentrations in south part.

This site is recorded as MED76, MED77 and MED78 in (S2), and the complex tenurial history of the settlement can be traced back to the early 14th century.
