Summary

A lead disc that was used as a sundial with engraved numerals and 'rays' linking the numerals to a central circle. The disc, which was found during metal detecting, probably dates to the 16th or 17th century.

Pre 1992. Found with metal detecting. Findspot not recorded.
Lead disc, approximately half of, marked for sundial. Probably 16th/17th century with engraved numerals IIII, V, VI, VII, VIII, IX, X, XI within 2 concentric circles and incised 'rays' linking the numerals to a double circle off-centre (cut across by edge of disc). Rough hole near border, deep transverse groove probably secondary, engraved W. ?Trial piece.
