Summary

Metal detecting here during 1991-92 recovered a number of Roman finds including tiles, brick tesserae, pottery sherds, coins and metalwork. Other non-Roman finds comprised a single Iron Age coin and medieval coin. It has been projected that two Roman roads in the parish crossed at this location.

Autumn 1991. Location [1]. Approximate area of 15m square of Roman tile, brick tesserae, pottery and 'metalwork'.
Finder believes projected Roman roads may cross in this area and refers to site as temple.
