Summary

Fieldwalking in 1992 and 1993 recovered pieces of medieval roof tile as well as fragments of Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery. Metal-detecting between 2007 and 2016 recovered a Roman pottery sherd; Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; medieval and post-medieval jettons; post-medieval tokens and a range of other, Late Iron Age/Roman to Middle Saxon and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. These metal finds include a Late Iron Age/Roman brooch; Roman brooches, a copper alloy bead, bracelet fragment and a bell; an Early Saxon brooch, belt mount, buckle and pendant; a Middle Saxon brooch and pin; Middle/Late Saxon tweezers and a pin; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; medieval copper alloy and lead seal matrices, book clasp, casket key, harness pendant, harness mount, possible model, trial-piece or patron for a harness pendant, lead spindle-whorl and lead pot mend; medieval/post-medieval copper alloy vessel fragments and a ring and post-medieval harness mounts, a rowel spur, thimble, toy fire shovel, lead toy fish and lead cloth seal.
