Summary

Metal-detecting in 1992 recovered a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount. The mount is decorated with a symmetrical design of two animals with elongated necks that meet in the centre of the mount.

Late Saxon box mount, copper alloy, with three iron rivets in body of mount, and two confronted animals, curved elongated necks, meeting in centre.
Animal head projecting at 'apex'. Flange at right angles.

Identified by S. Margeson (NCM), 18 September 1992.
This find was reidentified as a stirrup-strap mount by D. Williams in 1997, see (S3).
