Summary

Metal-detecting between 1992 and 2019 recovered a medieval pottery sherd as well as undated, Roman and Middle Saxon to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an undated unidentified sheet copper alloy object; a Roman brooch; a Middle Saxon spoon; a Late Saxon bridle-bit link fragment, Anglo-Scandinavian zoomorphic brooch and silver strap end; a Late Saxon/medieval; a Late Saxon to post-medieval lead spindle whorl; medieval to post-medieval dress accessories; a medieval leash swivel; a medieval/post-medieval lead weight and and a post-medieval book clasp, thimble, furniture drop handle, Jew's harp, hinged luggage fitting and cloth seal.

Early post medieval convex lentoid belt or harness stud, spike on reverse.
Early post medieval copper alloy book clasp, rings and dot on terminals, and 'graded' linear decoration in centre. Hook at one end.
Late post medieval copper alloy hinged luggage fitting. 'R. H. Gurney - Keswick' inscribed on it.
