Summary

Fieldwalking on this site by the Black Carr Research Group has recovered concentrations of prehistoric burnt and worked flint and Roman and medieval pottery. Two types of concentration have been identified - possible prehistoric burnt mound sites where burnt flint is concentrated and possible medieval sites where medieval pottery has been found. This medieval pottery may also have been brought to the field by manuring which moves pottery from one place and spreads it around the field.
