Full Description
January 1993. Stray Find.
1 Palaeolithic flint handaxe. Broken in antiquity; original form probably cordate or pointed ovate. Made of black flint, now with an iron stained patina. See drawing (S1).
Identified by P. Robins (NCM), see description in file.
This discovery was first reported in (S2). It is also noted on (S3) as a possible Type N handaxe (typically associated with Late Middle Palaeolithic activity). It is also listed in (S4) and (S5), although no additional information is given.
