Full Description
3 February 1992. NLA Air photography.
Earthworks.
One hollow way? continuing line of field boundary to south.
E. Rose (NLA), 18 February 1993.
November 2025. Northwest Norfolk Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AI&M) Project.
The possible hollow way described above, which is of presumed medieval to post medieval date, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (S1-S2) and visualised lidar data (S3). It seems rather narrow and insubstantial for a hollow way, but could be part of a trackway, boundary ditch and/or drain. Aerial photographs (S2) show that the earthwork was still extant in 2025. It was mapped from the visualised lidar data (S3). Other earthworks in close proximity to the west and southwest appear to relate to a pond, quarrying, and possibly landscaping, and have not been mapped.
S. Tremlett (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 18 November 2025.
