The central grid reference for this site has been altered from TG 1361 1897 to TG 1359 1902 due to the extension of the site to the north.

May 2010. Norfolk NMP.
The earthworks of medieval to post medieval date platforms, ponds and boundary ditches are visible on aerial photographs to the east of Swannington village (S3-S7). These features are likely to represent a former extension of the medieval village. Earthworks to the north of those recorded on the ground have been identified and the central grid reference of the site is now TG 1359 1902. The earthworks recorded within the southern part of the site are broadly consistent with the ground survey (S2), although a number of small rectangular enclosed areas are apparent on the aerial photographs that were not detectable on the ground at the time of the survey. The earthworks to the north of the stream consist of a group of rectangular platforms and enclosure ditches (S4). Similar boundaries and a platform, associated with medieval finds, have been recorded to the west (NHER 29484). The earthworks are showing well on Google Earth imagery, particularly (S6). Additional earthworks may be visible within the southeastern part of the site on (S7), but were not added to the mapping due to time constraints, see Google Earth website for images.
S. Horlock (NMP), 06 May 2010.
