Map

Complex of often substantial drainage ditches of varied orientation including two linked parallel linear ponds shown on Ordnance Survey maps. Most other ditches are up to 0.4m deep and up to 4m wide, but there are variations.
Southwest part of site north of cottage has two possible toft sites, with ditched boundaries. A north to south ditched causeway to the west of a hedge line shown on Ordnance Survey maps is 9m wide and 0.2m high. Probably post medieval.
An east to west sinuous causeway at the northern end is more substantial in height but up to 5m wide, and at its east has as its north boundary ditch part of a zigzag ditch alignment.
Slight suggestion of the alignment of the road to the south, continuing as a broken ditch line northwards through the site.
A parkland like appearance with some mature trees could suggest some features could be parkland landscaping. Detailed plan in file.
B.Cushion (NLA) March 1993.
