Map

27 July 1988. NAU air photography.
Cropmark of straight sided enclosure, long in relation to its width but overall quite small, with what appears to be two tiny circles at each of the northern corners. Suggested as a long barrow by D. Edwards (NLA).
E. Rose (NLA), 18 May 1993.

November 2004.
[1] states that there was a trackway through this field, as seen on (S1), which lines up precisely with the cropmarks on (S2), and they may have been foundations for a wall on either side of the drive's last section as it led up to the lodge gates.
J. Allen (NLA), 1 December 2004.

December 2022. Aylsham and Brampton Aerial Investigation and Mapping (AIM) Project.
The cropmarks of a post medieval trackway (see above) are seen on aerial photographs (S3-S4). The parallel linear features most likely relates to a trackway recorded on the Itteringham Enclosure Map. The feature has been previously interpreted (see above) as a Neolithic Long Barrow, however, this interpretation is unlikely as the cropmarks appear to align with the route of the trackway depicted on the enclosure map. As the features are recorded in good detail on the historic map (S1), the trackway has not been mapped as part of this project. The monument polygon has been updated to the position of the feature as seen on the consulted aerial photographs.
J. Powell (Norfolk Historic Environment Service), 15 December 2022.
