Summary

The L-shaped house here has one 16th century wing and one 17th century wing, both fronted in 19th century brick. The 19th century porch by the chimneystack suggests a lobby entrance. The barn to east is 17th century in date and has a timber frame with projecting porches. The stables once had a carving of the green man above the door but this has now gone. There is also the rare survival of an 18th century cow house here.

Map

Listed building description dates as L-shaped house with one wing 16th, the other 17th century, fronted in 19th century brick.
Offcentre chimneystack with angled shafts. 19th century porch by stack suggests lobby entrance. East gable has carved brackets, west gable with ovolo moulded mullioned windows. Early 19th century doorcase at rear. 17th century range has moulded and stopped beams.
The barn to east is described as 17th century timber frame with projecting porches.
UEA Farm Survey (in file) of farm buildings dates barn and adjacent stables to early 17th century, important because of diminished roof principals and arch braced collars. Stables has carving above door.
Also a rare survival of an 18th century cow house.
E. Rose (NLA) 2 June 1993.

The carving was above the door from the barn into the stables and was of a green man, important at this late date. However, it disappeared, and most of the interest of the building was also lost, when converted to housing.
