Summary

Metal-detecting at this locaiton in 1993 and 2024 recovered pottery sherds of probable Late Saxon and a number of metal objects including a Late Saxon strap end, a medieval buckle or belt fitting and a post-medieval gold finger ring.

Early 1993. Metal-detecting. [1].
One jar rim with internal 'lid seating', probably Late Saxon Thetford-type, although in micaceous Roman-style fabric. Four bodysherds, probably Late Saxon Thetford-type.
Fragment of bronze Late Saxon openwork strap end. See photograph (S1).
Gilded bronze unusual buckle or belt-fitting fragment; double- looped frame with pierced hole in centre of one side, medieval.

This gold finger ring was returned to the finder after being disclaimed as Treasure (Ref: 2025 T169).
