Summary

Fieldwalking and metal detecting in 1993 recovered a variety of finds including two prehistoric flint flakes, medieval and post medieval pottery. Excavation was carried out of a small animal hole.

February-November 1993. Watching Brief.
Brundall to Whitlingham Rising Main (7511).
Initial fieldwalking and metal-detecting where possible, followed by observation of stripped easement and, where deemed necessary, monitoring of the excavation of the pipe trench itself.
Finds recovered during initial field survey included:
Prehistoric work flints.
Medieval pottery sherds.
Post-medieval pottery sherds and building material.
After topsoil stripping no archaeological features were observed.
