Summary

In 1993 a watching brief on a pipeline for Anglian Water fieldwalked and detected a 10m strip. No archaeological features were identified on the stripped surface, although prehistoric flints and medieval and post medieval finds were collected.

February-November 1993. Watching Brief.
Brundall to Whitlingham Rising Main (Field 6224).
Initial fieldwalking and metal-detecting where possible, followed by observation of stripped easement and, where deemed necessary, monitoring of the excavation of the pipe trench itself.
Finds recovered during initial survey included:
Prehistoric worked flints.
Post-medieval pottery and other finds.
No archaeological features were identified when the topsoil was removed.
