Full Description
February-November 1993. Watching Brief.
Brundall to Whitlingham Rising Main (Field 2318).
Initial fieldwalking and metal-detecting where possible, followed by observation of stripped easement and, where deemed necessary, monitoring of the excavation of the pipe trench itself.
Finds recovered from topsoil included:
Prehistoric flints.
Medieval/post-medieval pottery sherd.
Post-medieval pottery sherds and other objects.
Following stripping one large, possibly agricultural, pit was observed, although it is probably modern.
