6 August 1993. In exposed face of quarry, at a depth of 1m in peat.
Largely complete but fractured human skull. No other bones found, but these could have been machined away, but I suspect this is an isolated skull, probably of considerable antiquity.
Coroner's officer informed. Skull in NCM.
