Map

Monitoring carried out during the laying of a water pipe by Anglian Water.
Medieval sherd from surface.
The deposits seen in the trench section were observed and recorded.
Most of the disturbance to the natural deposits were related to modern drains or to a large chalk backfilled sewer trench. One small possible pit was seen in the west facing section approximately 93-94m north of the fence at the south end of the observed area. It cut into the chalk natural and its fill was sealed by an orangey brown layer which contained brick/tile and modern land drain, and through which/above which any other features cut. See details in file and hanging plan.
No report produced.
