Human bones reported; found in chalk taken from this pit to a farm in Burnham Thorpe.
Note earlier finds of Bronze Age urns (see NHER 1814).

Visited 2 August 1993.
The chalk working face is in the southeast corner of the pit, in the base of the pit at a depth of about 13.7m to 18.3m (45 to 60 feet).
No clues whatsoever as to where the bones came from.
