Summary

Metal-detecting in 1993 recovered Roman, Saxon, medieval and post-medieval pottery sherds as well as a Late Saxon stirrup-strap mount.

1993. Metal-detecting.
Late Saxon box mount, 'ring and dot' round rivet holes in sloping flange. Iron in flange. Rivet in each corner. Animal head flanked by profile animals.
Identified S. Margeson (NCM) 19 May 1993.
This find was reidentified as a stirrup-strap mount by D. Williams in 1997, see Monograph (S1).

Pottery also found.
Mostly Thetford type ware with 1 sherd Ipswich Ware and 1 sherd late medieval or early post medieval and a few medieval sherds and 2 Roman rims.
