Summary

The number of Early Saxon brooches found by metal detecting, suggests that this may be the site of an Early Saxon cemetery. Roman, medieval and post medieval metalwork has also been found.

1994. Metal detecting find.
Early Saxon square headed brooch, part of foot plate below bow, with projecting lobe, with style I decoration in roundel on lobe and a triangular field with incurved sides (chip carved decoration). Central vertical rib. Broken at rib. Leeds B3 type.
