Full Description
Listed as Nos 1-3 The Street, now 5-7 Church Close. Listed building description says 16th century timber frame faced in brick; off-centre stack to west. Interior said to have stopped beam and heavy moulded fireplace bressumer. Early 19th century west cross wing, and small stair projection with Venetian window. East cross wing of around 1800 in white brick, three bays two storeys towards east.
Information from (S1).
20 January 1994. Site visit.
Property visited by E. Rose 20 January 1994 but only interior of east cross wing seen - no pre 1800 work inside and indeed little pre 20th century. Remainder of exterior briefly seen and does suggest originally a three cell timber framed house with cross wings added to ends rather than replacing parts of original.
E. Rose (NLA), 21 January 1994.
Photocopies of photographs in file.
