Summary

In 1993 a metal detectorist found a bronze medieval key. It is elaborately decorated with features including circles, a cross and a stylised animal head.

Beautiful bronze medieval key; quatrefoil openwork bow: cross, open in centre, with open circles in each spandrel and an open circle on each side, projecting. At top a stylised animal head. Hollow stem and double stepped wards. Moulded collar at top of stem.
