Summary

Fieldwalking in this area during 1993 recovered a wide variety of objects. Finds of note included Neolithic and possible Iron Age flints, a medieval weight, a post medieval buckle and an undated whetstone and quern.

Mintlyn Farm Field Survey (Haveless):
Large scatter including NHER 18147.
Neolithic and Iron Age flints - eight flakes, three scrapers, two cores.
Identified by P. Robins (NCM).
5.2kg iron slag.
Two Grimston/Thetford sherds, fifteen glazed Grimston, some late.
One unglazed Grimston, ten unglazed medieval, one late medieval transitional.
Three glazed medieval earthenware, two stoneware.
One hone, Norwegian ragstone.
One lava quern.
One Barnack lump.
Two cast bronze medieval vessel fragments.
Discoidal late medieval lead weight with central hole and Star of David.
Bronze buckle, early post medieval.
Three burnt flints.
Three shells.
Three lead lumps.
Five post medieval glass fragments, post medieval pantiles etc.
Some of finds probably derive from hall site NHER 3411.
