Summary

Prehistoric flints implements, medieval brick, pottery and roof tile, post medieval bricks and pottery, as well as clay pipes, found during a watching brief carried out by the Norfolk Archeological Unit in 1992 in advance of the construction of a new gas pipeline.

May-August 1992. Fieldwalking and Metal-Detecting Survey and Watching Brief.
Fieldwork carried out along route of Yelverton to East Carleton Gas Pipeline (Survey Blocks 84-121).
Finds recovered during initial survey include:
1 prehistoric flint blade, 1 core and 6 flakes.
1 medieval pottery sherd, 5 brick/tile fragments and glass.
8 post-medieval pottery sherds and 21 brick/tile fragments.
No archaeologically significant features or deposits identified during subsequent Watching Brief undertaken during topsoil stripping and excavation of pipe trench.

The finds have been deposited with the Norwich Castle Museum (NWHCM : 1995.75).
