Summary

Historic building recording in advance of proposed demolition recorded an early 17th century date for the original house. It was extended in the 18th century and completely remodelled in brick in the late 18th or early 19th century. This remodelling included the creation of an imposing brick façade.

Large house gutted by fire about 1992.
Fossil flint and brick east gable wall remains, together with one 17th century beam. House greatly increased in size around 1800, the one remaining beam having been extended and recarved to fit. Later 19th century additions. Garden walls and grounds contain huge amounts of iron bound conglomerate.
