Summary

Metal-detecting between 1993 and 2015 recovered a Mesolithic to Early Bronze Age flint blade; a small assemblage of Neolithic/Early Bronze Age worked flints (including a leaf-shaped arrowhead); a medieval coin and Iron Age to Early Saxon and medieval metal objects. The metal finds include Iron Age, Roman and Early Saxon brooches; an Early Saxon strap fitting and a fantastic medieval barrel padlock.

Early Saxon strap end, tongue-shaped, rivet hole at one end. Engraved cross between two pairs of parallel transverse lines at top.
Illegible medieval halfpenny/farthing.

Lovely medieval bronze barrel padlock, faceted 'barrel', three outer faces and stamped decoration. Innards missing. Projecting 'fin' survives.

Early Saxon fragment of annula ?brooch (assymetrical) with pierced hole and inner border of stamped double crescents, Style 1 animal head with eye, and ring narrows beyond this - broken.
