Map

17 August 1981. OS air photography (S1).
Cropmarks noted by B.Cushion (NLA) and shown to E. Rose (NLA) May 1994.
Quite remarkable complex of what looks almost like an earlier course of Acle Dyke, paralleling it to the north, with small square enclosures along its north side, and a kidney shaped enclosure in the field north of that. Drainage ditches also visible, probably not of great age.
Photocopy in file.
E.Rose and B.Cushion (NLA) 1 June 1994.

January 2001.
These are visible as low earthworks in pasture.
E. Rose, (NLA) 17 January 2001.

May 2007. Norfolk NMP.
The earthworks and vegetation marks described above are visible on a number of aerial photographs, e.g. (S2)-(S4), centred at TG 4118 1078. They appear to represent a combination of undated drainage features and modern agricultural marks, and as such have not been mapped by the NMP. The enclosures described above are more probably rectilinear foot drains of relatively recent origin, clearly visible on RAF vertical photographs taken in 1962 (S3).
S. Tremlett (NMP), 16 May 2007.
