Map

11 August 1993. Ordnance Survey air photography.
Cropmarks noted by B. Cushion (NLA) and shown to E. Rose (NLA), May 1994.
Bank and ditch, aligned straight north to south, then curving round to south to west. Joining road at each end; no south or west sides. The fact that the marks lead from field gates at each end makes this a little suspicious looking, but this may be coincidence as the marks are otherwise convincing.
Photocopy of (S1) in file.
B. Cushion (NLA) and E. Rose (NLA), 1 June 1994.

January 2006. Norfolk NMP.
NMP photo interpretation has led to the alteration of the central grid reference of this site from TG 484 197 to TG 4838 1985.

The cropmarks described above, which also extend into the adjacent field to the west, are visible on a number of aerial photographs, including the photocopy mentioned above (S1)-(S2). They represent the levelled remains of a post medieval field boundary/drainage ditch which is depicted on the Ordnance Survey 2nd edition 25 inch map (S3) and still remained an extant earthwork in 1972 (S4). Consequently they have not been mapped by the NMP.
S. Tremlett (NMP), 12 January 2006.
