Summary

According to 1907 Ordnance Survey maps a large brickworks with numerous brick kilns and drying sheds was situated here. In 1997, a single medieval coin was recovered here by chance.

Site of brickworks.
Very large brickworks shown on 1907 25in Ordnance Survey, with parallel drying sheds, and bank of kilns to north. Buildings shown on 1975 1:10,000 Ordnance Survey do not appear on the 1907 map except perhaps for the cottages against the road. Cut to river may suggest waterborne trade.
