Summary

Metal-detecting and stray finds between 1994 and 2019 recovered prehistoric worked flint; Iron Age, Roman, Middle Saxon, Late Saxon and medieval pottery sherds; Roman, Middle Saxon, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval jetton and Iron Age to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include Iron Age to Roman brooches; a Roman horse figurine and brooch; Early Saxon wrist clasps and mount; an Early/Middle Saxon rectangular guilded bronze plate and tweezers; Early, Middle and Late Saxon brooches; a Middle/Late Saxon mount and pin; Late Saxon weights and stirrup-strap mount; a medieval buckle, coin weight and harness pendant and a post-medieval cloth seal. This site is adjacent to a Roman to medieval occupation site (NHER 30636) but appears to be on the edge of the settlement as fewer finds have been made here.
