Crater from V2 rocket. Grid reference given by Norfolk and Suffolk Aviation Museum as TG 2694 1555, which falls within moated site NHER 17471. However at above grid reference NAU aerial photographs (S1) show a white circle, probably the infilled crater which is said to remain as a low depression.

February 2008. Norfolk NMP.
The possible crater from a V2 rocket, described above, is visible as an earthwork on aerial photographs (S1) and (S3)-(S4), centred at TG 2701 1570. Whether it really does represent a bomb crater, or whether it is instead a natural depression or former pond, is not clear. Certainly, the latter are not uncommon in this area. It does, however, have a quite regular outline, and also a ‘halo’ of presumably upcast material around it, both features which are typical of bomb craters. It was still extant in 1988.
