Full Description
Rocket House.
September 1987. Listed, Grade II.
House. 18th century on earlier core. Brick painted pink, glazed pantiles. Three bays, two storeys and attics, gable chimneystacks. Central 19th century porch and segmental dormer. Rear extensions. Interior has double depth left hand room, doorcases with reeded surrounds; ornate fire surrounds, dado, lozenge pattern ceiling. Ornate staircase in rear extension below lantern with beehive aperture through loft. Similar first floor fire surrounds. Roof with reused ships' spars. Interior of front wall shows originally of flint, subsequently brick coated.
