Summary

Metal detecting in this area during 1994 and 1996 recovered a Roman coin, two Late Saxon strap fittings, part of a late medieval knife and several medieval buckles.

August/September 1994. Metal detecting. Field 503. Large scatter including NHER 24396 and 24638. Southwest part of field.
Late Saxon openwork tongue shaped hasp with bosses on frame and knob terminal. Same on both faces. Attachment loop broken. Central stem with symmetrical 'branches'.
Lovely late medieval solid bronze knife end - cap in form of saddle.
