Summary

Metal detecting from 1994 to 2000 recovered a number of coins, pottery sherds and objects. Particularly interesting finds include an oval enamelled Roman plate brooch, sherds of grey ware and an Iron Age horse head figurine. In addition to these Roman finds a medieval knife blade, coin and post medieval pewter plate fragment were recovered.

Medieval iron knife blade, tip and most of whittle-tang missing. Back and cutting edge tapering towards tip.

Roman coin of Eugenius dating to AD 392-5.
Medieval coin from Venice recovered dating to AD 1400-25.
2nd/3rd century AD Roman plate brooch, enamelled oval type. Outer ring of blue enamel, central zone now empty.

Copper alloy possible casting jet, unknown date.
One jar rim and five body sherds of Roman greyware.
One hard fired yellowish buff rim of small vessel, possibly Roman.
Pewter possible plate fragment, post medieval?
