Map

E. Rose (NLA) 3 April 1995.

May 2008. Norfolk NMP.
The earthworks and structures relating to the former cement and brickworks are visible on aerial photographs alongside the River Waveney (S3-S5). Only features not depicted on the Ordnance Survey first edition map were mapped from the aerial photographs.

Although all of the earthworks have been recorded under this number, the Burgh Castle cement and brickworks (NHER 10501) was located to the immediate north and it is possible that some of the northernmost components of the site may actually relate to the Burgh Castle brickworks and not this southern site. It is possible that all of the brickworks along this section of the Waveney fall under the Burgh Castle brickworks umbrella.

The earthwork consists of a series of pond and extractive pits, with the main concentration of features being at TG 4740 0386. A chain of sub-rectangular ponds is also located to the south.
S. Massey (NMP), 29 May 2008.
