Summary

Fieldwalking and metal-detecting between 1994 and 2021 recovered many worked flints, the more diagnostic of which included Mesolithic tranche axes/adzes, blades and a microlith; a Mesolithic/Early Neolithic blade; an Early Neolithic laurel leaf and leaf arrowhead; Neolithic axehead roughouts, a ?arrowhea and various scrapers and other retouched tools and several potentially Bronze Age pieces including a long narrow piercer. Other finds recovered included Iron Age, Roman and medieval pottery sherds; a Roman key; a medieval brooch and post-medieval spur fragments.

Field collection by [1] in western part of field, on western side of cropping division (finder's Field 13).
2 Mesolithic flint tranchet axes/adzes, 1 microlith fragment and 3 blade cores. See drawings of tranchet axes/adzes and microlith (S1). Although other items in the collection may relate to these Mesolithic implements, none is sufficiently diagnostic to pick out, nor are there an striking differences in patination or flint type.
1 Neolithic leaf arrowhead, 1 flake knife and 1 laurel leaf/knife.
6 ?Bronze Age flint 'thumbnail' scrapers.
30 undatable prehistoric flint scrapers, 2 hollow scrapers, 6 notched pieces, 9 piercers, 1 denticulate scraper, 1 'strike-a-light', 1 core scraper, 1 fabricator, 23 retouched pieces, 16 cores, 1 core tablet, 1 hammerstone, 14 blades and 47 flakes.

Found by [1] in "plateau area":
2 Neolithic flint axe roughouts, 1 ?unfinished arrowhead, 8 side scrapers, 35 end scrapers, 4 piercers, 14 notches/hollow scrapers, 23 miscellaneous retouched pieces, 16 cores and 150 flakes.
1 Late Neolithic/Early Bronze Age flint plano-convex knife and 1 'thumbnail scraper'.
1 ?Middle Bronze flint piercer.
3 Roman pottery sherds (greyware).
1 medieval pottery sherd (glazed Grimston) and 1 medieval brooch.
2 post-medieval spurs.

Found by [1] on "north facing slope":
3 ?Mesolithic flint blades (1 with later retouch) and 1 flake. All white patinated.
1 Late Prehistoric notched flake, 6 retouched flakes, 1 core fragment and 8 flakes.
