October 2010. Norfolk NMP.
Examination of all the available aerial photographs confirmed the presence of a sub-rectangular enclosure in the south-east corner of the field, centred on TL 8711 8648. The enclosure ditch is visible as a fragmentary cropmark (S1-S2), measuring at least 89m by 52m.
A very broad and blurred feature, which is likely to be geological, and was therefore not mapped, is also visible in the northwest corner of the field, centred on TL 8695 8653. It may represent a square enclosure, or possible square barrow, measuring approximately 28m in maximum external length, but it appears in a very similar way to the geological features visible in the vicinity, and is therefore unlikely to be archaeological in origin.
E. Bales (NMP), 18 Oct 2010.
