Summary

Metal detecting at this location from 1993-2004 retrieved a range of multi period metal objects. The most noteworthy of these finds were a Roman silver ring and cosmetic pestle, an Early Saxon ear scoop and a 16th century copper alloy button.

At location [7]. Harlow brooch dated to around 40-75/85.

At location [8]. Early Saxon bucket mount worn loop for handle above curve for rim. Nicked edges next to top hole for attachment, groups of fine transverse incised lines. Base bifurcating into pair of crescentric loops, holes surrounded by punched dots. One other hole in centre.
At location [9]. 16th century alloy button formed by plain back plate, non-ferrous sheet and cruciform openwork top plate, cross with pellets.
At location [10]. 16th/17th century double looped buckle. Exactly as Norwich Households No.172.
