Ring ditch and double rectangular enclosure.

D. Edwards (NAU).
2 July 1996. NLA aerial photography.
Cropmark of ring ditch indicates a cross at its centre, suggesting that the site has at one time been a post mill.
The ring ditch may be an earlier feature onto which the mill was constructed.
See (S2).

July 2006. Norfolk NMP.
A cropmark of a possible medieval post mill is visible on aerial photographs (S1-S2). The grid reference for this cropmark has been amended from TM 3425 9265 to TM 3424 9268. A sub-circular ring ditch cropmark with a 2.5m wide ditch is present. A cross-shaped ditch cropmark is located in the centre of the ring ditch. This cropmark relates to a post mill of medieval to post medieval date. It is located on a small hill at 25m OD. Ring ditches of Bronze Age round barrows are present to the north of this site and it is possible that the mill was constructed on an existing mound. Other cropmarks previously recorded under this HER number are now recorded as NHER 44832.
J. Albone (NMP), 04 July 2006.
