Summary

Metal detecting at this site during the period 1995-2007 recovered a medieval purse bar with a boss flanked by stylised animal heads,a harness fitting, a single medieval and post medieval coin and a pierced Roman coin.

1995. Metal detector find.
Medieval purse bar with central shield-shaped boss, and knob and broken shank from base of swivel loop. Boss flanked by stylised animal heads. One arm broken off, other decorated with double crossing diagonal lines inlaid with niello (and boss also). Integral holes for attachment of purse.
