Full Description
Late June 1995. Metal detector finds. [1]
Late Bronze Age socketed axe, (S1). Some recent damage to cutting edge. Remains of wooden haft in socket sent to CEAS (Centre of East Anglian Studies), unable to identify. Much iron staining and preservation of wood indicates buried in a wet environment.
