Summary

Metal-detecting between 1995 and 2022 recovered a prehistoric flint core; Roman, medieval and post-medieval coins; a post-medieval token and jetton and undatable and medieval to post-medieval metal objects. The metal finds include an undatable lead scrap; a medieval barrel padlock, weight, and thimble; a medieval/post-medieval weight; and a post-medieval sword belt fitting and cloth seal.

Full Description

June-July 1995. Metal-detecting. [1].
Medieval bronze barrel padlock with pair of wavy lines engraved on outer case. Bolt and spines still in place in the lock. The lock is broken into two pieces and thus the internal mechanism is revealed. Compare with (S1).

Undatable lead metalworking scrap, molten copper alloy metalworking waste, a copper alloy ring and a lead droplet, possibly a weight.
1 medieval/post-medieval pottery sherd.
1 post-medieval coin, spur fragment, rumbler or crotal bell and a mount, possibly from a belt.
